If charities are not well governed and money not spent properly, it will give the whole field a bad name.

How We Are Accountable

We are governed by an independent and renowned Board of Directors chaired by Professor Tommy Koh, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Singapore. Our Board is responsible for the overall control and supervision of SymAsia, setting the foundation's strategic direction.

SymAsia is a non-profit organization (NPO) under the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) Tax Incentive Scheme. We run the SymAsia Singapore Fund, which is an approved Institution of a Public Character (IPC) under the Singapore Charities Act. This enables Donors giving towards IPCs in Singapore to enjoy generous tax deductions of 250%.

We are subject to annual external statutory audits by an international public accounting firm and adhere to Credit Suisse policies on conflict of interest and whistle-blowing.

SymAsia’s financial information and annual reports are available on the Charity Portal.
